Symfony2 News website launched to keep developers up to date.
This week we launched Symfony2.com for the community of developers who want to keep up to date with all that's new in the upcoming release of this great PHP Framework. Everything from official blog posts, #Symfony2 tweets, new components and gitHub commits are all updated live.
We have a section for featured projects which are powered by Symfony2. If anyone has a cool project or article and would like to have it featured on Symfony2.com please contact us. Although we wont use this version of Symfony for any clients until a final release it was fun to get our hand dirty and see the internals of the Symfony2 Framework.
We are very open to any feedback or requests for the site and will be keeping this mini project up to date with all the latest info as it's announced. If your interested in following our Twitter account for this project please check out us @Symfony2.

#SiliconSoho office party was awesome!!!
We had a great time last week for the building party here at 40 Beak St Soho. It was definitely up there as the best office party ever with live bands, DJ's and entertainment all night. Our building has turned into a great little tech hub in Soho with companies like BraveNewTalent, iPlatform, EVISUA and Playfire so the #SiliconSoho name seems an appropriate fit.
The BBQ was serving Boerewors rolls all night and everyone eventually got their dancing shoes on. Hope we have another one soon and be sure to join us next time. It was great meeting everyone else in the building and be sure to come visit us on the 3rd floor. Out of the 300 people who showed up here are some of the companies that dropped by...
Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Index Ventures, LOVEFiLM, Balderton Capital, DFJEsprit, PROFounders Capital, Atomico Ventures, GlassesDirect, Doughty Hanson Ventures, Eden Ventures, Bebo, Moshi Monsters, Advent Venture Partners, Seedcamp, eCourier/Shutl, Enternships, WhiteBearYard, 4IP, InMobi, BaseKit, Razorfish, BBH, DDB, Mindshare, MPG, Dennis Publishing, Forsyth Group, Skimlinks, TrustedPlaces, ViaPost, Sports New Media, Rummble, Spoonfed, Latitude, Chiconomise, WAYN, Struq, GroupSpaces, StudentBeans, ParkAtMyHouse, OneFineStay, TechCrunch, Wahanda and over a hundred more. Oh, and of course Playfire, iPlatform, EVISUA, Boxlight Media, BraveNewTalent and Bare Films too!

We've moved office, Boxlight headquarters now lives in Soho
Its that time a year again! Heavy lifting and assembling furniture which proves to always be harder than expected. Our new location is 40 Beak St 3rd Floor, SOHO and our non exact location is end of Carnaby St.
Moving is always a hassle, especially when you have to climb up 3 flights of spiral steps with desks, computers and chairs. We managed in the end and are now having a hard time ignoring all the crowds outside the watering holes at all times of day. We dont have a buzzer yet but just ring BraveNewTalent they will let you in.
We usually enjoy lights off in the office however a window with a bit of day light was a welcomed addition in the new office. The new minibar fridge has been installed and it has been getting some very good use each Friday. The library is coming along with some great reading material. Have a look at the pic below for some recommended reads.
As we are growing and hiring it was a good idea to move as we require more desk space so this office is perfect for us to expand even further.
Places we've enjoyed for lunch around here are Cha Cha Moon and the Alphabet across the street is great for World Cup games.

Symfony Live After Party - Feb 25th, London
Everyone loves a party and so do we. What better opportunity could there be than to celebrate all the hard work and effort which is going into Symfony Live Paris this year. Everyone involved will definitely be needing some relaxation time!
We would like to invite everyone to an unofficial Symfony Live after party in London, UK on the 25th February 2010. This will be taking place the evening before the PHP UK Conference so those of you all over the world have no excuse not to be in London! This is a great opportunity to meet people involved with some of the most state-of-the-art web technologies available.
A private function room has been reserved at a great location in Central London, and as your hosts we are planning on ensuring everyone has a great evening. We will be doing our best to keep you entertained throughout the evening with some demo's, a few talks and general PHP/symfony banter. There will also be a private bar with food and drink to ensure everyone is sufficiently nourished. The bar is called Sway Bar and you can find out how to get there here.
The floor will be open for anyone to say anything on their mind related to symfony or PHP, but if you would like to be part of the evenings' schedule please Contact Us. UPDATE - Any start-ups wishing to present their projects built on symfony please get in touch as well.
The event officially takes place from 18:30 to 21:30 but you are free to stay as long as you like or join the main bar located upstairs.
We will need your help to spread the word, so get tweeting! Although the focus of the event is symfony, the entire PHP Community is invited and welcome to join.
Also, feel free to RSVP on our new Meetup Group here as it will help to give us a rough idea on numbers. Please note that as the venue is a bar and being held in the evening entrance is strictly for adults only.

Social network Bloombla working with Magnolia Pictures to promote new movie
Social network Bloombla working with Magnolia Pictures to promote new movie.
LONDON, United Kingdom - October 20, 2008
Bloombla and Magnolia Pictures, today announce a new strategy of using social network Bloombla (www.bloombla.com) to promote the upcoming movie "What Just Happened" (2008). Magnolia Pictures will be the first company to receive an exclusive space on Bloombla's network.
Bloombla's social storytelling platform is being used to generate interest around Robert De Niro's character in the movie "What Just Happened", a portrayal of Art Linson life which can now be found as a new profile on Bloombla called Ben's life.
This profile is being used to promote the movie by showing you things Ben has done in his life. Each "Bloom" added to Ben's life allows everyone to join in on a open discussion, add it to their own life and write their own story. This initiative is opening up a new way for the entertainment industry to get people involved and feel connected to the movies characters.Anton Ygartua, Founder said: "Its exciting to see new ways social networks like Bloombla can be used to promote and engage audiences of all ages. We are happy to work with Magnolia Pictures and hope this new approach is a start of a changing industry."
"This method of advertising is giving the user the experience expected and a chance to interact with it. We are exploring new methods of reaching the user while preserving our meaningful Bloom structure. " said Jamie Learmonth Founder.
More of this advertising experience can be expected to appear on Bloombla in the future. Bloombla is introducing a fresh approach to targeted advertising in social networks.
About Magnolia Pictures. Magnolia Pictures is the theatrical and home entertainment distribution arm of Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban's 2929 Entertainment, specializing in a unique and eclectic slate of films.
